Le Pont du Gard – The official website of Pont du Gard. The Pont du Gard, one of the best-preserved vestiges of Roman architecture is a UNESCO heritage site located in Remoulin. Throughout the year they offer various cultural events and also have a museum and a walking trail through the Mediterranean landspace referred to as le Garrigue.

Le Musée 1900 – Before or after your French cooking class, you must take a tour through the Musée 1900. Owner Gaston Baron has amassed an amazing collection of artifacts from the 1900s. A wonderful trip in time.

Haribo – Le Musée Bonbon – For the kids and kids at heart. If it’s sugar you want, sugar you will find at the Haribo factory and museum located in Uzès. See how the candies are made and learn the history of their candy-making.

La Bambouseraie – Get out of the Summer heat and enjoy this beautiful botanical garden in the Cévennes. Worth a visit for any lover of fauna and flora and a lovely treat for the kids especially if you take the train à vapeur

Train à Vapeur des Cévennes – This little steam train is a great way to travel through the foothills of the Cévennes between the villages of Anduze, the Bambouseraie & Saint-Jean-du-Gard. (page in French). You can also find information in English on the Anduze Tourism site

La Maison de la Bourgade – B&B located in the heart of Uzès offers single rooms as well as rooms with kitchenette. Run by Elisabeth Lallemand and her son Thomas Lallemand (La Maison de Famille), you are in good hands at the Maison de la Bourgade.

La Maison d’Uzès – While the city of Uzès and the surrounding area offer many B&B & home rentals, if you are looking for a hotel, you may want to consider the Relais & Chateaux hotel La Maison d’Uzès. With just 8 rooms this former maison particulier (private home), has been beautifully restored for your comfort.

Hôtel L’Entraigues is a beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of historic Uzès. Be sure to head up to the terrace for an apéro and lovely views of Uzès. Grab dinner expertly prepared by chef Axel Grousset-Bachelard.

Arpaillargues

Château d’Arpaillargues – Ever wondered what living like royalty feels like? Get a small glimpse into the lives of the royal families of medieval France by booking your next stay at the castle in Arpaillargues, 3 kilometers away from Uzès. It is an 18th-century castle that has been transformed into the Hotel d’Agoult, with all the luxuries of modern facilities such as wifi, hot showers, a jacuzzi, and a wonderful swimming pool. Should you feel hungry during your stay there, they have a restaurant serving fine French food. And if you’re feeling sporty, they have tennis courts for the guests to use. Restaurants

La Famille – Located on the Place aux Herbes, this little restaurant is a must-try for some delicious, fresh food and great wine.

Au Petit Jardin – Jazz Café, Restaurant and Bar à vins. Enjoy live music every Saturday night and a lovely courtyard in this local Uzètien restaurant.

Terroirs – You can’t miss this popular eatery located at the Place aux Herbes in the heart of the city and its market. Not only a restaurant but also a boutique where you will find local and regional products. Open 7 days a week and in the off-season (thank goodness for us).

Ten – An Aussie-inspired bistro just a few steps from the Place aux Herbes run by a dynamic Franco-Britannic couple. Fabulous cocktails, excellent coffee, and delicious French & international food from their chef. Read our blog post.

La Fabrique Givrée – In the mood for ice cream well you will want to pop into this ice cream shop for a scoop or two with original flavors like toast-flavored ice cream. Located directly on the Place aux Herbes


Wine

Trésors des Vignes – A caviste in Uzès offering local and regional wines amount plenty of selections both domestic and international.

Domaine Deleuze et Rochetin – Organic winemakers offering wine tasting. Located in Arpaillargues across from our school. We have chosen them to be one of our purveyors of wines for our classes. Read our interview here.

De Grappes & d’Ô – Because you can never have too much good wine – here is another one of our suppliers who produce organic delicious wines. Rémi is passionate about his wines as well as the earth upon which his vines grow. Catch him on Wednesdays at the Uzès market. Read our interview here.

Domaine de Malaïgues – One of the best organic vineyards in the area. François Reboul is as passionate about the soil in which his vines grow as he is about the wine itself. Wine is just one of the things that the domain produces. A visit to his domain has been included in some of our French culinary holidays.
