A Guided Tour in Uzès? Let’s go for a ride in the mythical 2CV with Florian Stoll, your local guide in Uzès and beyond or beyond & in Uzès, as he calls it. I’ve been curious about the Ailleurs et Uzès tours. I asked Florian if he could take us for a little ride so I could take some photos of him and his beautiful green Citroën. What we experienced was well beyond my expectations. Ailleurs et Uzès, Florian’s company, offers guided tours in the Gard and beyond (within reason).
Florian speaks German & French and though he tells me his English is rusty, he gets on quite well. While he proposes a few set itineraries on his website he is always up for an adventure. You can let him know where you would like to go. Enjoy his retelling of the history of our region. He drives you through the countryside and is full of so many interesting facts and anecdotes.
His car, the classic 2CV has become a well-sort-after vehicle all over France. You will turn heads as you go cruising down the narrow streets of these historic towns. Whether you are visiting the amazing “lavoirs” (wash-houses) of Medieval villages or taking in the sites of the Cevennes, Provence & the Gard, this is definitely a worthwhile tour. Take your time, take it in and cruise with Ailleurs et Uzès. Organize a picnic. Go see the lavender fields of Provence. Visit the Pont du Gard.
