Christmas in Uzès – Uzès Christmas Market

We decided after several days of hibernation with our sick child, it was time to get out of the house. And given that the Marché de Noël was taking place in Uzès this weekend, it seemed as good a time as any to take a stroll into town. So off we went.

Last year we were home for the holidays. And while this year we’ll be spending some time with family, we still made time to hit a few Christmas markets, including the Cracker Fair and the Uzès Christmas market. Was hoping to make it to Nîmes to catch their illuminations on the Arena, La Maison Carré, & on Tour de l’Horloge.

The Uzès market has really been elevated from the first one we saw back in 2014. 75 stands and some very very fine, vin chaud. A nice band walking through paying tribute to Johnny Hallyday, reminding me of the Cat in the Hat, horse and carriage ride offered by the city, mulled wine (I may have said that already), hand-crafted gift ideas, santons, and tourists in costumes. What more could you ask for?

So, you may have missed it this year but there’s always next year. In the meantime, enjoy the photos and have yourselves a very happy holiday season.

While we are no longer based in Uzès we do still offer a culinary experience you will surely enjoy with our Let’s Eat Uzès culinary Week in Uzès program, join our chefs and our guides and enjoy a taste of France and the Mediterranean. This tour is offered in small groups of no more than 8 people, in English. Discover Let’s Eat Uzès!
