Provençal Cooking Classes

In Provencal cooking classes, you can expect to be cooking with these 5 ingredients Olive oil, garlic, onion, tomato & bell peppers. Any dish calling itself “a la provençale” will very likely have most of, if not all of these ingredients. Provencal cooking classes focus on the dishes typically associated with the southeast of France.

We offer Provencal cooking classes at Cook’n with Class Uzès located in the pays d’Uzes, at the doorstep to Provence.

As in any of the Provencal cooking classes you may find in the south of France, you can expect that the ingredients as long as they are locally grown, have had the benefit of what the French refer to as “Le Terroir” – a term that can loosely be thought of as earth enriched. You should expect that if you have a ratatouille in the south it really tastes like what this dish should taste like – Provence!

Our approach in our Provencal cooking classes at Cook’n With Class Uzès centers around the use of seasonal products cooked simply to ensure that the flavor of the product is maintained and respected. In the Summer you can expect more dishes including, ratatouille which is made of eggplant, zucchini, tomato, bell peppers, onion & garlic. In the Winter your Provencal cooking classes could include bouillabaisse using fennel, leeks, onion & carrot. Not to say that you can’t have a bouillabaisse in Summer since the ingredients are available almost year-round but each season typically has its dish.

And if you are looking for a week of Provencal cooking classes, why not consider our Week in Uzès French culinary holiday package. With 5 days of tasting, touring and cooking and 7 nights accommodations, this is a wonderful, fun and relaxing way to immerse yourself in the tastes of the South of France.
